Lynn has completed basic
obedience and handler protection work with a previous dog and
has handled dogs for 9 years. With her current dog,
Tasha, a bloodhound, she has completed: two 40 hour courses
with the National Bloodhound Training Institute, one 40 course
with TASK ( Texas Alliance of Search K 9's), one 40 hour
course with LETS (Law Enforcement Training Specialists), and
trained with several law enforcement bloodhound handlers. As a
team they hold a K-9 SAR TECH III designation from the
National Association of Search and Rescue (NASAR) in trailing,
and certification in tracking from LETS.
Lynn grew up in British
Columbia and Central Ontario, Canada. She loves
the outdoors and has traveled thru Canada, the United States,
Caribbean, Mexico & Europe. She also has experienced
sailing in Lake Ontario and the British Virgin Islands.
Her father, (Bob, VE3CWS) has been a ham radio operator for
50+ years, so she has grown up around international
communications and attained her own ham radio call sign - KB9
ZHU. Lynn has worked in various positions within a
dental team for 30 years, and is currently a licensed
dental hygienist in Wisconsin.
Other training includes: SAR
TECH II from NASAR, CPR, First Aid and Pet First Aid. She
has also completed courses in: HAZMAT, Bloodborne pathogens,
Disease Transmission, Special Events Contingency Planning,
Volunteer Agencies in Emergency Management, Emergency
Response to Terrorism through the National Fire Academy,
Incident Command, and Weapons of Mass Destruction through the
Department of Justice. She also has taken courses
through Wisconsin Emergency Management in: Public
Information Officer -Basic and Advanced,CERT (Community
Emergency Response Team), Improvised Explosives Device
Recognition and Understanding Dementia and Alzheimer's Disease
for SAR Personnel.
Lynn was the past
Administrative Liaison for Milwaukee VOAD ( Volunteer Agencies
Active in Disaster) and is one of the founders of the team.
